Review: It’s the engagement party of Normie Osborn and Brenda Dragon, and May Parker couldn’t be any more miserable. While she is trying to get her relationship with Chris Jarkoer started, she still wishes that things between her and Normie would have been different. That soon changes when Élan DeJuane, Fury the Goblin Queen, appears and unleashes the new Venom on everyone. Leaving May as Spider-Girl to take down the two villains, but an ally is mortally wounded in the process. Before I go praising the writer of this great book. I would to express my sympathies for writer: Tom Defalco who recently lost his wife. I can not imagine what he is currently going through while I write this review. I can only say that he writes a great book.

Ron Frenz is really on top of his game in this issue. Everyone looks just great, from the fight scenes, the emotions on everyone’s faces to the debut of the “new” Venom. He does not miss a beat here. This is a great start to what will probably be a very memorable story arc. Spider-Girl rules!

I'm not sure I would give this issue 5s across the board, but it WAS a lot better than it has been lately. Even the art was much better than it has been of late. Hope this spike in quality keeps up!
