Constantine COmics

So i am really excited about this new Constantine movie. I looks like its gonna be really cool. I am a huge Keanu fan, Matrix and all. So i am really hoping he doesnt let me down. I understand that it is based on a comic book series but dont know anything about it. Looking for some background info before i see the movie....

The series is called Hellblazer, and it's quite good these days. Basically, Constantine is a man who sold his soul to the devil for power, then scammed Death to gain immortality. So hell doesn't like him very much. DC is about to do a TPB containing the movie adaptation and several of his best comic stories, plus the TPBs from his series are ubiquitous.
