In what Elseworlds does Luthor rape and murder Lois?-I believe it was in Generations.
What is Lex Luthors full name?-Alexander Joseph Luthor
What last name did Luthor's family change their name to and why?-Tough one, still thinking on it.
Who were Luthors foster parents?-Casey and Elaine Griggs
Did you or Blake ever find it scary that you know this much stuff about Superman?
Mark Blicharz

The one I was thinking of was Kal where all the Superman characters are in medievel times.

Oh that one. I was thinking of Lex doing it, not Baron Luthor and Loisse. It was Superman: Kal from 1995 written by Dave Gibbons and illustrated by Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez.

How often do you and your dad have conversations about Superman?

We do, and we usually talk about them when we see each other for our weekly Smallville night. :)

Mark Blicharz

He's in his early 30s, but no real age has been given. It also varies depending on which origin you use which puts his date of birth several thousand years apart.

I want to see you answer that... How many people Superman saved in his entire career? Pre-Crisis, Post-Crisis, and the whole thing altogether.
Alright, you can close the thread now, no way nobody's gonna be able to answer that!
Blake Petit

We've repeatedly passed on "how many" questions -- of COURSE nobody is going to be able to answer that. How many people are there in the world? He's saved every one of 'em several times over.

Several trillion all told. There could be no exact number since he's saved the entire universe a few times as well. That's not a stumping, the answer is simply everyone in the universe a few times over.

Sure, take the easy way out and say the whole universe!
Why does Superman like Batman and vice-versa, and why Diana cares for Clark so much?
Blake Petit
October 11th 2005, 10:47 AM
Nothing "easy" about it, it's the truth.
Superman and Batman have a grudging respect. Diana was Clark's best friend until the whole debacle with Maxwell Lord. As for "why"... well... why do you hang out with your friends?
Mark Blicharz
October 11th 2005, 11:04 AM
Superman and Batman are like brothers. They respect each other and are very similar overall, just go about doing things differently. Diana and Clark are still best friends, just there's a strain due to her killing Max. She also almost always had feelings for him.
The AstroForce
October 12th 2005, 04:34 AM
What Clark saw in Lois that got him so fired up about her? Goes both ways too, what Lois saw in Clark?
What does Clark think of Jimmy Olsen?
What is the most emotional event that happened in Clark/Superman's life? Positive and Negative.
Why Superman had a fling with Wonder Woman? I mean, Lois Lane is THE one! There wasn't supposed to be anybody else! EVER!
Why did Superman rejected Maxima? I'm asking you this because I wouldn't reject Maxima never, and i am quite picky on the ladies. And Captain Atom rejected her too! I mean, there is nothing wrong with her, powerful, hot, i like her strong attitude, everytime i read Superman rejecting her, i scream out-loud: 'YOU FOOL!' I just can't over that one.
Blake Petit
October 12th 2005, 11:25 AM
Again, you're asking questions about what brought them together, and that's as abstract in comic books as it is in real life. Clark was probably attracted to Lois's strength and courage, and Lois saw the same things in him.
Jimmy is his pal.
I can't really speak for what Clark sees as the most "powerful" events in his life, but as a reader I think the most emotional things were the New Year's Eve party where he let a friend drive drunk, resulting in a car crash that turned him into a vegetable (the event which taught him responsibility), and on the good side, probably when Lois said she'd marry him -- him, not Superman.
Superman didn't have a fling with Wonder Woman. There was some initial attraction when they first met (how couldn't there be?) but nothing ever came of it, and that was before he and Lois were together.
As for Maxima... I wouldn't be too keen on getting together with a woman who wanted to abduct me across the galaxy and use me as a breeding stud either...

Why Darkseid considers Superman a potential threat to his plans? Based on their capabilities, he shouldn't even be a potential threat.
Mark Blicharz
October 14th 2005, 07:52 AM
Because with enough sun exposure, he can eventually get more powerful then Darkseid.
The AstroForce

Exactly because of that? But that doesn't answer why he is a current potential threat to Darkseid, because he is still below him.

Physically, Superman is in the same ballpark going all out near a star. He's strong enough normally to hurt him, something not many can actually do.

Which model was Lois Lane's appearance based on by Siegel and Shuster?
Who is Lois's forgotten niece?
How many Superman characters has the initials LL and who are they?
Blake Petit
October 20th 2005, 11:20 PM
The model Siegel and Shuster based Lois on was named Joanne Carter.
Lois's long-lost niece was named Susie Thompkins, which would seem to indicate she had a sister other than Lucy that never showed up.
I never answer "how many" questions, because in the almost 70 years of continuity you're bound to miss SOMEBODY, but here are the LLs I can think of...
Lois Lane
Lucy Lane
Lana Lang
Lex Luthor
Lionel Luthor (Lex's father in Smallville continuity)
Lena Luthor (Lex's long-lost sister)
Lori Lemaris (Clark's college girlfriend who turned out to be a mermaid)
Lenora Lemaris (Lori's sister)
Lyla Lerrol (A Kryptonian actress who was destined to marry Kal-El if Krypton hadn't exploded)
Linda Lee (Supergirl's secret identity)
Luma Lynai (A woman Supergirl found on a distant planet while seeking a mate for her cousin, who turned out to be fatally suceptible to Earth's yellow sun)
And of course, Lara Lor-Van, his mother's maiden name, which raises the question of whether he's just got one mama-jama of an oedipal complex.

I just discovered this gem.
I have a question. No fair Googling.
A classic Superman story was retold around the time of the Crisis in another book ostensibly to have the story still remain in continuity but without Superman in it.
Can you name that story?
If that's too vague, here's a hint, but try it without the hint first.
It was in All-Star Squadron
And let me know if you had to use the hint.
Mark Blicharz
January 16th 2006, 12:52 PM
Good question. There was a few books during that timeframe that did it. The issue in question is All-Star Squadron #64 written by Roy Thomas. It was the last in-continuity PC book even though it happened after the Crisis ended. Roy Thomas told us later that the events took place before All-Star Squadron #50. The story was a retelling of Superman #19. The All-Star Squadron replaced Superman due to Superman having been erased from continuity. It was a classic story where the comic strip characters come to life. The artist was Wayne Boring. No I didn't use the spoiler. :)

This doesn't really count as trivia, but long ago as a boy I read a pre crisis Superman story where it turns out that Superman had a twin brother who was a hunchback. When Superboy discovered him, in a jealous rage Superboy trapped him in a meteor of kryptonite, and tossed him into space. Superboy then suppressed memory of the incident until confronted with it as an adult Superman - who then dies freeing the hunchback from the kryptonite. The hunchback Superman turns evil (surprise) and conquers the Earth.
Brought back to like, Superman is going to confront his "twin". That ended the issue and I never saw the followup. I realize it was all some kind of setup of course, but I always wanted to know what happened. Anybody?

This occured in World's Finest #246 and #247. The "twin" was actually the Parasite. He went under the name of Kor-El though. Superman and Batman teamed up and overthrew Parasite who had taken over the world. Bob Haney wrote and Kurt Schaffenberger did the pencils with Tex Blaisdell on the inks.

Alright, here's two more I've wondered about.
1. Does Superboy count. I read a comic where he meets up with another kid who somehow has powers apparently greater than his own (he doesn't seem to be a villain). Anyway they start mixing it up, at one point Superboy tries to blow him away with superbreath and the kid laughs and asks what that breeze was. This was another story I never got to finish, who was he and what happened to him?
2. In the 70's, Superman fights a guy who gets the power of the last person he lost a fight to. First he gets beat by WW so he gets her powers. Supes then beats him so he gains Supes powers, but Supes is able to beat him a second time since Supes had been depressed during their first fight (this was the 70's remember). Supes dumps the guy in Kandor. What issue is this from and did the guy ever come back (I always thought this was kind of a cool power to have).

This one's easy. Nightwing and Flamebird were the code-names that Superman and Jimmy Olsen used when they went into the bottle city of Kandor. They took the names of two Kryptonian birds and became sort of a "Batman and Robin." Dick Grayson and Bette Kane (who, Pre-Crisis, was the original Bat-Girl) took the names themselves after they outgrew their own original identities.
The names were also used by Superman's sons, Kal-El II and Jor-El II, when they went to school in Kandor in one of them classic "Imaginary" stories.

Gabri-el, means strength of God
Micha-el, means representative of god
Sama-el (this is Satan btw)
Rapha-el
Uri-el
notice, Kal-el

Did she mind control Superman too?
Edit, Mark and Blake, should I take my question in another thread? I don't want to clutter up you guys's thread.
*chuckles* She mind controlled Supes and Barda into getting it on. I'm sure that counts.
Oh, and what about Neron from Day of Judgment?

He possessed Superman, as in entered his body...that's not mind control. You're not controlling his mind, it's a separate entity controlling the body...

Darkseid-brain washed after Superman had amnesia from the fire pits.
The Burning-Mind controlled the entire JLA
Poison Ivy-Kryptonite lipstick, not real mental control as Ivy has no telepathy.
Crucifer-Magical mind control
Manchester Black (twice)-Illusions, not mental control
Eclipso-Possession, not mind control
Amazing Grace-Weakened Superman after Amnesia
Little Girl (Mc'ed Superman in JLA story: Tenth Circle)-JLA screw up.
Brainiac-Superman's resisted Brainiac more times then I can count.

Ok, I wasn't sure if that counted or not. So Deadman will never count in that regard, correct?

I wouldn't....

I wouldn't either. Magical possession isn't something Superman would have a resistance to.

Look, you asked a question, I answered it. I wasn't dealing with the details of it all, but everyone of those people have taken control of Superman and it backs my point that SUperman gets controlled WAY too often to NOT have defense measures for WHEN he gets controlled. And just because you may not agree with what happens in a showing, doesn't mean it doesn't count.

Is my question still do-able?
What characters have mind-controlled Superman in anyway?

As was explained during John Byrne's run on the title, Superman's invulnerability and flight powers are both aspects of a telekinetic aura that is in close proximity around his body. (This is also why his cape can be destroyed, but his skintight costume usually goes undamaged.) Superman has never used the field for anything besides his invulnerability and flight powers. Superboy, on the other hand, learned to use the field to manipulate objects he is in physical contact with, a power he calls "tactile telekinesis."

It's actually better than just his skin being helluva tough. If you think about it, why wouldn't his outfit tear or something since Ma just made it with regular fabric? It's weird, sure, but it makes more sense and is a little more plausible than his clothes just being invulnerable (like in pre-crisis days).

While reading superdickery some questions came to my mind.
Who was the bald lady that Lex chose as his bride in Action comics cover (http://www.superdickery.com/dick/57.html) and why was Superman frenching her?
Which episode of World's Finest had Superman giving Nazi salute (http://www.superdickery.com/dick/48.html)to his marching troops and what was the story about?
In which episode did Superman threatened to rape (http://www.superdickery.com/dick/113.html) Wondergirl and who was mindcontrolling him (again)?
Which episode was this (http://www.superdickery.com/dick/162.html) was Superman mindcontrolled again?
Were Supergirl and Comet (Superhorse) an item (http://www.superdickery.com/dick/150.html)?
In how many issues Popemobile go-kart (http://www.superdickery.com/dick/13.html) appeared?
Is the woman Superman french kissing (http://www.superdickery.com/dick/99.html) Maxima and why are they doing it on Lois grave?
What is this issue (http://www.superdickery.com/dick/64.html) about?
Was the JFK Superman slapped (http://www.superdickery.com/dick/112.html) an imposter?
What was Crisis at Hand (http://www.superdickery.com/dick/156.html) about?
Who was the Supergirl that Clark greeted (http://www.superdickery.com/dick/174.html)?
Has Superman ever turned into a female (http://www.superdickery.com/stupor/25.html), if so how many times?

Don't mean to step on anyone's toes here, but I thought I'd field a few of your questions. I'm no expert on PC DC, but I can help out a little:
While reading superdickery some questions came to my mind.
Who was the bald lady that Lex chose as his bride in Action comics cover (http://www.superdickery.com/dick/57.html) and why was Superman frenching her?
Don't remember the name, but she was from Lexor I believe...the planet that Luthor saved and he ended up being their hero. I don't know why Kal was frenching her though...
Which episode of World's Finest had Superman giving Nazi salute (http://www.superdickery.com/dick/48.html)to his marching troops and what was the story about?
Ask Blake or Mark :)
In which episode did Superman threatened to rape (http://www.superdickery.com/dick/113.html) Wondergirl and who was mindcontrolling him (again)?
That was during Byrne's run on Action Comics, I can get you the issue # if you want. Essentially Superman was duped into going to a guy's house to see his invention, and it was a mind transfer device. The guy took Superman's body and flew off, and started a rampage. That's not Clark saying that.
Which episode was this (http://www.superdickery.com/dick/162.html) was Superman mindcontrolled again?
I believe he was being influenced by Brainiac...and was being tampered with. It was the Dead Again arc.
Were Supergirl and Comet (Superhorse) an item (http://www.superdickery.com/dick/150.html)?
Comet was actually a weird thing: he's actually a guy who turns into a horse for some reason (for more info I'm sure that Blake/Mark can field it). She wasn't into bestiality...:)
In how many issues Popemobile go-kart (http://www.superdickery.com/dick/13.html) appeared?
Mark/Blake
Is the woman Superman french kissing (http://www.superdickery.com/dick/99.html) Maxima and why are they doing it on Lois grave?
Alternate future, what if kinda story. Lois was dead, so Kal married Maxima, I think it was part of the Armageddon storyline. I don't think in the actual story they were making out on her grave, but they hooked up.
What is this issue (http://www.superdickery.com/dick/64.html) about?
Was the JFK Superman slapped (http://www.superdickery.com/dick/112.html) an imposter?
Again, Mark/Blake.
What was Crisis at Hand (http://www.superdickery.com/dick/156.html) about?
He's actually glaring at the wife beater...don't remember what the "Crisis at Hand" was that or not though. My mind's been driftin'
Who was the Supergirl that Clark greeted (http://www.superdickery.com/dick/174.html)?
Has Superman ever turned into a female (http://www.superdickery.com/stupor/25.html), if so how many times?
B/M
What happened to the Legion of Superpets (http://www.superdickery.com/dick/78.html)?
In Byrne's reboot, they ceased to exist, like Supergirl (well up until Loeb brought her back). Krypto has been back, but he's from an alternate Krypton.
Who was mind controlling Superman in these issues?
http://www.superdickery.com/dick/98.html
http://www.superdickery.com/dick/116.html
http://www.superdickery.com/dick/111.html
http://www.superdickery.com/dick/81.html
The thing w/ the JLA and Booster, I don't know. The thing w/ the Titans, that's the same thing as above...the guy who's the "only one who can save us" is actually Superman in the scientist's body, the guy whose mind is now in Superman's body...and the Legion? I think it was a mixup, and he wasn't being mindcontrolled.

In a pre-crisis comic, Clark Kent once infiltrated a prison and to hide his true super-identity, he hid his uniform by compacting it into resembling a sheet of paper which he hid inside a book in his cell.
What issue was this?
