Blake Petit
March 2nd 2005, 09:01 PM
Depends on who's writing it at the time. For the longest time it was Jerome (after Jerry Siegel, who created him), but recently one of the titles used a different name. Azzarello's I think. I believe it's supposed to be Joseph now.
Mark Blicharz
March 2nd 2005, 09:02 PM
It's been printed as Joseph and Jerome.
Blake Petit

But why do a bunch of supermans secondary characters have the initials L.L.?
Lois lane, lana lang, lex luthor
Is there some reason behind the rhyme?
Blake Petit
March 3rd 2005, 09:18 AM
Jor-El's brother was Zor-El, father of Kara.
The L.L. thing started out just as a coincidence -- Lois Lane was introduced, and Lex Luthor, and later Lana Lang. When the editors and writers noticed it, it started to become sort of a running gag -- Linda Lee, Lyra Lyroll, Lori Lemaris, Lucy Lane, and now even Lionel Luthor in Smallville.

I'm sure my questions with be a no-contest for GOKU and Blake, but here's some:
1. Name all the different kinds of kryptonite, and they're varying effects.
2. What writer was responsible for the 'S' on Superman's chest standing for Superman instead of his family sigul?
3. What was the name of that super-chimp and what issue did he first appear in, and which issue did he LAST appear in?
Like I said, I'm sure they'll blow through these...
Blake Petit
March 3rd 2005, 09:18 PM
The Kryptonite question is only valid pre-Crisis, but...
Green K -- Kills Kryptonians. Post-Crisis, it is also cancerous to humans after prolonged exposure.
Red K -- Had a different effect every time. Post-Crisis it only appeared once, as a magic rock Mr. Mxyzptlk gave to Luthor that took away Superman's powers.
Gold K -- Would permanently rob Superman of his powers. Although since it was never used on him, obviously, I have no idea how he knew that.
Blue K -- Was only toxic to Bizarros.
White K -- Was toxic to plant life.
X-Kryptonite -- Accidentally created by Supergirl, temporarily gives superpowers to animals. It was responsible for her cat, Streaky, sometimes being Supercat.
Kryptonite-X -- By contrast, boosted Superman's abilities.
Jewel Kryptonite -- Amplifies the psychic abilities of people trapped in the Phantom Zone
Slow Kryptonite -- Modified Green K that slows people down, both Kryptonians and humans
Silver Kryptonite -- A fake K made by Superman's friends as a hoax in honor of the 25th anniversary of his arrival on Earth.
Mark Blicharz
March 3rd 2005, 09:34 PM
I'll let Blake handle the Kryptonite question since he already answered it. :P
2. Actually, that is false, the true meaning of Superman's S is in the Kent's family line. It stemmed from an Iriquois blanket that was passed down to Clark's parents, it was a diamond shape with a snake coiled in the shape of an S. To the Iriquois it was a symbol of healing. But as to your question, I believe it was Byrne.
3. His name was Toto/Titano and his first appearance was in Superman 127 published in 2/1959. His last appearance is in Superman 323. He had one small appearance in Superman Annual number 1 as well, which was post Crisis. There was also Beppo who first appeared in Superboy #76 in 10/1959. His last appearance was Superboy #142 in 1967.

When it comes to Superman, the only person I know that knows more then me is my father. Not sure the full extent of Blake's fanboyism and I mean that in the nicest way possible. :) And to the One Million question, the only Superman that I'm aware of are One Million and Prime. One Million is theorized to be Kon-El but I'm not sure it is, it's said that Lois was the queen of the dynasty. One Million was a merging of Superman's power and the 5D imps power and Prime was in self imposed exile in the Super Sun for 800ish centuries.
Blake Petit
March 7th 2005, 08:52 PM
The extent of my fanboyism? I love Superman, that simple. :) He's my favorite superhero, I haven't missed a single regular issue of any of his comics since 1990 and I've gone back and filled in all but 20 of the post-reboot comics since then. I've got hundreds of pre-crisis stories as well and I've read hundreds more. I think the first movie remains the best superhero movie ever made (Sorry, Spider-Fans), I loved all incarnations of the TV show except the Dean Cain version (he just WASN'T SUPERMAN) and while my knowledge of the minute details may not be quite as extensive as Goku's, I'd place my understanding of the character and what makes him work up against anyone's. :D

An energy experiment simultaneously turned all of the Kryptonite on Earth to lead, while stripping Superman of a large portion of his power, which went into a creature made of sand. The story was intended to depower Superman and humanize him, but it didn't really work, and his power levels were gradually restored while the Kryptonite was gradually faded back in. (At the time a new chunk seemed to land somewhere every other week, so it wasn't too hard.)

Who is the Eradicator, and where is he now?
Blake Petit
March 9th 2005, 03:32 PM
The Eradicator was originally a Kryptonian artifact that was sent into space to preserve the legacy of the planet Krypton. It eventually made its way to Earth and tried to remake the planet into a duplicate of Krypton, but was defeated by Superman and hurled into the sun. Its programming not entirely destroyed, it returned to Earth during the time Superman was presumed dead after his battle with Doomsday. Mistakenly believing himself to BE Superman, it created a new body for itself and became one of the four faux Supermen. It restored its own programming during the final battle with the Cyborg Superman in Coast City and, acting on its own mission to protect all things Kryptonian, sacrificed itself to save the real Superman, simultaneously restoring his powers.
Superman brought the Eradicator's body to STAR Labs, where it merged with a scientist named David Conner, who became the new Eradicator. Connor's mind and the Eradicator's programming have blended over time and have occasionally caused problems, but he's basically considered one of the good guys now. He was last seen in the first issue of the new Majestic series helping Superman to bring Mr. Majestic back to his own universe. (The Wildstorm Universe.)

Mol-El was never Kryptonian, although Superboy briefly thought he was.
Pre-Crisis, Superboy found Mon-El's spaceship after it crashed to earth. The man inside had amnesia, but dimly recalled meeting Jor-El. Superboy, naturally, jumped to the conclusion that this was somehow his own long-lost brother, and dubbed him "Mon-El" because he found him on a Monday. As time wore on, though, he started to suspect Mon-El was not who he said he was, and set a trap for him by painting lead ore rocks green and pretending they were Kryptonite and calling for help. As Mon-El approached, he fell ill as well, and Superboy took this as proof that he was faking. Then Mon-El's memory was restored and he realized that he was actually Lar Gand of the planet Daxam, whose inhabitants have powers identical to -- although slightly stronger than -- Kryptonians, but who are vulnerable to lead rather than Kryptonite. (How this works, since lead isn't actually radioactive, I've never understood.) Realizing Mon-El was dying and it was his fault, Superboy put him in the Phantom Zone, where he was trapped for 1,000 years before Brainiac 5 of the Legion of Super-Heroes discovered a cure for Daxamite lead poisoning.
Post-Crisis: Lar Gand of Daxam, alias Valor, was instrumental in seeding the universe, helping humanity spread out across the galaxy in the years after the 20th century. He became an almost religious figure on many of those worlds, but was lost in time and wound up on Earth in the late 20th century. There he encountered Superboy (Kon-El), and again succumbed to lead poisioning. Again, Superboy placed him in the Phantom Zone for 1,000 years before Brainiac 5 found the cure for the poisoning. Not wanting to be the religious figure he had become, though, he took the name M'onel, which is the Martian word for "wanderer."
How Mon-El/M'onel/Valor/Lar Gand fits into the current LOSH continuity has not yet been explored.

Yep. Saved our butts during the Invasion, though, when the Dominators rounded up an armada of aliens from various planets to come and take Earth's metahumans, the Daxamites stayed behind and observed. Superman was able to convince them to come over to the other side and they turned the tide, helping Earth drive back the Dominion forces.

...Okay. How about this. How many versions of Brainiac are there?
Blake Petit
March 10th 2005, 03:40 PM
Depends on what you mean by "how many versions."
He's upgraded himself up to 13 times, hence Brainiac 13, who came back in time from the point of that upgrade to Metropolis on the eve of the year 2000 (taking advantage of the Y2K scare).
If you just mean how many different versions of the character there have been... there's the classic Couluan version, the funky robot version from the 80s, the human/Coluan hybrid from the 90s, the point where he managed to transfer his brain into Doomsday, the "baby Brainiac" where he took over Lena Luthor and the Brainiac 13 computer intelligence.
Then there was also Brainiac 5 of the LOSH, who got his name because he was the fifth Couluan of the Dox family to evolve to that point of sentience, leading us to believe that there was a Brainiac 2, 3 and 4 in there someone. Brainiac 4, in fact, was Brainiac 5's mother.
In other medium, there was the Kryptonian Brainiac from the Superman: The Animated Series, who actually seemed to take on many of the traits of the Eradicator. Other cartoon Brainiacs (such as the Superfriends and Super Powers versions) were closer to the Brainiacs in the comics at the time.
So go ahead and count that if you want. I hate counting.

Plus another question:
In a John Byrne Superman story Superman stated that Bizarro's heat vision was hard to resist. Is this because he wasn't as invulnerable then to heat or at that stage of his career he could be affected by someone with an equal power of his ie heat vision?
Blake Petit
March 17th 2005, 06:29 PM
That was the "original" post-crisis Bizarro, who showed up in an issue of the Man of Steel series. That itself, however, was a throwback to the first-ever Bizarro story, in which Superboy was "bizarroed," and that Bizarro died and restored the sight of a blind girl.
As for the heat vision question -- It's actually a combination of both. Superman wasn't as powerful then as he is now.

Way back in the day, when his Costume was also indestructible how did Superman remove dirt and stains from it?
libra_libertine
March 17th 2005, 07:39 PM
It's not indestructable. Don't know how it would be pre-crisis but post-crisis his invulnerability wasn't as much physical i don't think. It was more reliant on the aura he had around him that would protect anything about 1mm near his body, ie his costume. Since the costume is skin thin that maybe why the material isn't so easily ripped to pieces. Though his cape isn't protected.
Which brings me to another question, Pre-crisis did he have an aura around him or was it purely physical invulnerability?
Blake Petit
March 17th 2005, 07:41 PM
Pre-crisis, his costume was invulnerable because it was made from Kryptonian blankets, the ones he was wrapped in when his ship was sent to Earth. Currently, he's got an invulnerable "aura," which is what protects his costume (close enough to his skin to be inside of the aura) but not his cape.
libra_libertine
March 17th 2005, 07:44 PM
How many costumes did he have pre-crisis made of Kryptonian Blankets? Surely he must've had more than one. going by the sound of it he wouldn't be able to get many out of the size of that blanket.
Blake Petit
March 17th 2005, 07:48 PM
Actually, he just needed the one. It never got torn or ripped, and it had an inordinate stretching ability. As far as I know, in fact, they never even showed Ma Kent making bigger ones as he got older. It's possible he wore the same suit from the time he was Superboy.
The only made another costume one time, when Lana put a bug in Clark's ear about wearing different colors. He got Ma to make another costume out of what remained of blankets, this one yellow, with a blue cape and shorts. But the yellow costume reflected away the sun's rays and diminished his powers, so he went back to the classic.

This is his costume from back in the 40's and 50's. It has been explained a few different ways, such as it was a cloth material which is immune to the most powerful forces, that Superman invented himself, and also it was a kryptonian blanket that Ma kent made into a costume. Apperently the kryptonian blankets became more durable on earth just as Superman himself did.

So there was more than just Earth 1 and Earth 2 prior to the crisis, but how come only 2 supermen were shown? (Ah crisis on infinite earths anyone)
Blake Petit
March 17th 2005, 11:08 PM
Actually, there weren't just two Superman shown. There was another Superman on a world found just before the worlds merged (as seen in the "Legends of the DC Universe: Crisis on Infinite Earths" special), and there was Ultraman, who was the "evil" equivalent of Superman on Earth-3, plus there was the Clark Kent/Superboy of Earth-Prime and, of course, Super Squirrel of the Justa Lotta Animals from Earth-C-Minus. (I am not making this up, folks.)
But not every world was a mirror for the DCU. One Earth had the old Charlton heroes, one had the Fawcett heroes, one had the heroes of Quality Comics, and one (my favorite) had the characters of Captain Carrot and his Amazing Zoo Crew.
To put it simply -- they usually only showed us the two Supermen because, before "Elseworlds" and "Hypertime," those were the only two that had ever been created.

In fact, pre-Crisis, when Argo City was blown free from Krypton whole, they lined their own asteroid with lead sheeting to protect themselves from the Kryptonite their ground was turning into. They were safe until a meteor shower punctured the lead and killed them, but not before Zor-El could send Kara to Earth to be with her cousin.

ok how about this... how was Doomsday created and how did he find his way to Earth? Also, how is it possible Darkseid has an army of Doomsdays like in Superman/Batman #10?
Blake Petit
March 19th 2005, 10:07 PM
Doomsday was the result of an experiment to create a "perfect being." A group of scientists went to a brutal, savage world (which turned out to be Krypton) and created an organism that was sent out onto the surface of the world and killed. They improved the creature a little each time it died, cloned it again, and ultimately created a being that could evolve on its own each time it died, preventing it from dying again the same way. He killed the scientists and eventually found his way to a ship that he took to lay waste to other worlds, before finally coming to a world where he was defeated by an energy being, the Radiant. He was then strapped down, chained and sent into space, where he mingled in with some meteoroids and eventually fell to Earth and was driven underground. He was lured to Superman upon waking up because he could detect his Kryptonian DNA.
As for the "army" -- Darkseid just cloned him. He'd gotten a sample of his DNA in an earlier storyline. The clones weren't as powerful as the real Doomsday because they hadn't yet evolved fully.

ok...why is it when Superman goes into space, he either A:holds his breath or B:he has some type of device he breathes from? I thought he didnt have to breathe (as noted in action comics #694-696 when he went deep in space)
Blake Petit
March 20th 2005, 02:12 PM
During that period in Action Comics, his powers were gradually increasing, and a single breath was enough to fully oxygenate his blood. Once his powers were restored to his normal level, he needed to breathe again. How long he can hold his breath tends to vary from writer to writer, but on average it's accepted that he can go between 90 minutes and two hours on a single breath, unless he's engaged in really intense physical activity, requiring him to breathe more often.

Mark Blicharz

As for the Doomsday, he was created 100,000 years ago originally. The breath thing, Superman can hold his breath up to 2 hours, but he doesn't need to in space any longer. Mongul II taught him how to breathe in space.
Blake Petit
March 21st 2005, 03:31 PM
He was part of a four-person space crew that was bombarded with cosmic radiation (I ain't making this up). All four of them got fantastic (cough) powers, in the case of Hank Henshaw, the ability to transfer his mind into machines. The powers killed his crewmates, however, and he wound up transferring his mind into the Kryptonian Birthing Matrix that first brought Superman to Earth. Controlling a Kryptonian artifact with access to Superman's DNA, he created a cloned body with Superman's powers, merged with the technology of the spacecraft, so now he has his original ability to possess machines, plus all of Superman's power.

It's hard to pinpoint an exact timeframe on those -- post-Crisis, secret IDs were kept on a much tighter reign, and in fact, in JLA #50 a big deal was made about all the members of the JLA revealing their identities to each other. As of IC, though, it seems to have been retroactively changed so that the community knew each other's secrets for years.

So where is discountinuity resolved for the 80's pre-Crisis Braniac? He is still the metallic Braniac in #12 of Crisis, so after all this time I still don't see this character being post-Crisis changed.
I don't see the connection to the Coluan Braniac that popped up in the late 80's, the one that is referred to as the post-Crisis but pre-Zero one.
Blake Petit
March 25th 2005, 09:21 AM
The "metallic" Brainiac was resolved in "Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow?", the same way that all pre-Crisis elements of Superman were resolved. As of Man of Steel #1 (1986) it all restarted. The Coluan Brainiac that possessed human mentalist Milton Fine in the late 80s is the one who continued to evolve until he became the current Brainiac.

Maybe I should make this a PM, but then again people might be curious about it.
I think back in Action 649, the Brainiac trilogy, we have a redux of the head-ship, but this Coluan is Vril Dox the former scientist as opposed to the original Brainiac, a robot. Brianiac 1 spawned the other B5, B12, B5.1 ones, but it Crisis issue #12 toward the end the original pre-Crisis Brainiac brings the villain horde to Darkseid for his help.
Then this Brainiac vanishes, even though this is technically post-Crisis. It's just one of those inconsistencies that was never tied up.
Blake Petit
March 25th 2005, 05:36 PM
Well, the headship was just a throwback to the Pre-Crisis Brainiac.
As for why Brainiac was still a robot in Crisis #12, it's because the "post Crisis" Superman doesn't align EXACTLY with the end of the Crisis. Crisis on Infinite Earths was published in 1985 and 86. The Man of Steel miniseries came out LATER in 1986, and the reboot didn't begin until THEN. It's just that there were a few months where the Pre-Crisis Superman and his world still existed before the Post-Crisis version was introduced.

I guess that's a valid point. However, why pay homage to the original head-ship? After all Vril states the idea came to him in a dream. I still think that even with the two re-boots, this still doesn't cover adequately the bionic Brainiac. Even after the Byrne era, Vril Dox is covered, but the robotic Brainiac isn't.
I think the original Brainiac still exists out there but is no longer covered by DC.

There are a TON of things in pre-Crisis DC that were cancelled out, but were paid homage in post-Crisis. The only "survivors" of the Crisis were the four who went "somewhere else" -- Superman and Lois of Earth-2, Superboy Prime and Alex Luthor of Earth-3.

The how the future Superman got there hasn't been revealed yet -- that's going to be part of the final Jeph Loeb story arc on Superman/Batman, from what I understand. And he was wearing the costume of the Kingdom/Kingdom Come version of Superman, although I've heard hints that it may not exactly be him...
Technically, "Matrix" never met her pre-Crisis counterpart, she had been separated from Supergirl, who merged with Linda Danvers at that point. But what happened was that the Pre-Crisis Supergirl's ship got pulled through a warp in timespace into the current DCU. She had to be sent back to her own world to die in the Crisis, or the timestream would have been unravelled. Sucks to be her, huh?

Where Doomsday came from (again) was never adequately explained, nor his elevated intelligence. As far as siding with Superman, he was apparently "trying something new." We answer what questions we can, but when the "writer" decides to throw out all concerns of logic, continuity, character development or plot progression, there's really nothing we can do. :p
Yes, there's a modern Kandor, and Preus came from there. How this Kandor came about was never quite explained, nor was what happened to the previous Post-Crisis Kandor, which was a city comprised of refugees from dozens of different worlds. The current Kandor, like the Pre-Crisis Kandor, is a miniaturized city of Kryptonians.

Blake Petit
April 6th 2005, 05:58 PM
Rao was, depending on what version you read, either Krypton's god or Krypton's sun -- sometimes both.
The Matrix Supergirl came from a pocket dimension that was created by the Time Trapper to trap the Legion of Super-Heroes. The only hero of that universe was a Superboy that never existed for the Post-Crisis Superman, and the Legion went to his universe instead of the "real" DCU whenever they traveled back in time. After that Superboy died fighting the Time Trapper, the world was left without superheroes. Lex Luthor created Matrix/Supergirl, who went to the real DCU and brought Superman back for help when their world was invaded by three Kryptonian villains. Matrix was the only survivor of that universe and came back to the real DCU, where she operated until she saved the life of a reprobate named Linda Danvers. When that happened, she and Linda merged, but the matter that had been the Matrix survived and went bad. The new Supergirl/Linda merger defeated Matrix, and Supergirl was later separated from Linda during a battle in Hell. She was redeemed and moved on, and Linda became the new Supergirl until she disappeared at the end of that series.

Frozone -- his powers wouldn't CHANGE, but without yellow sunlight to recharge him, they would diminish.
CB -- Superman became president in a potential future viewed by Waverider. His identity became public when Clark Kent saved Pete Ross from an assassination attempt. Pete was too injured to continue the campaign and convinced Clark to take it up for him. At first, there was opposition to his candidacy, as being an alien he was not a natural-born American and, constitutionally, could not run. The Supreme Court took up the matter and declared that Kal-El was not technically "born" until he was removed from the Kryptonian Birthing Matrix that sent him to Earth, born in Kansas, and therefore eligible.
Although with the way his origin has again been tweaked, I don't think this would be applicable anymore.

he spoke to the animals in a issiue of Elseworlds where he was brought up like Mowgli from The Rudyard Kipling's book The Jungle Story . he was raised by A she wolf named M'rrraaah (martha) and his name was Kl'rrk, he had a scar over his face from fighting the tiger Shere Kahn. Lois and Richard (her traviling companian) met up with Luthor (who just had stolen a sacred artifact from a hidden tribe in the congo, and slaughterd the tribe as a result) . Long story short ...lois and clark met , she taught him how to speak, they fell in love, Luthor kidnaped Lois and held clark captive with the artifact (it was a kryptonite stone) and he made a sword out of the same material, to keep him (clark) in line. after a filed attempt at the Queen's (of england) life, Luthor died a firey death after falling off a roof. Lois and Clark married and had kids and led the world into a utopian sociaty.
he last cried during Batman/Superman # 20 as he was about to kill Skyscaper (a DC clone of Giant Man) he said "you killed lois!" and killed him on the spot.

The president thing wasn't exactly an Elseworlds, it was an Armageddon 2001 story, a "possible" future, but still viewed through a canonical story.
As for killing Lois, Jimmy, Metropolis, etc., I'm pretty sure that's happened a few times (always a hallucination or alternate reality situation). The most specific one I can recall at the moment is when he "lost control" of his powers in the Red Glass Trilogy, circa Action #666.

1) October 1971, Action Comics no. 405, Who is the assasin trying to kill the president who broke through all his traps?
2) November 1973, Action comics no. 428, what happened to Superman?

4) June 1975, Action Comics no. 448, Who is the eerie menace on the 13th floor that superman is so afraid of?

1) October 1971, Action Comics no. 405, Who is the assasin trying to kill the president who broke through all his traps?-General Trevis I believe his name was. He was the leader of the US' military.
2) November 1973, Action comics no. 428, what happened to Superman?-I'm pretty sure this is the issue that Lex Luthor used mass hypnosis on the entire planet to make him invisible to everyone on Earth.
3) November 1973, Action Comics no 429, How DID that guy know all about Clark/Superman?-I'm pretty sure that guy found a file in the Daily Planet that had the details of Superman's life written in Kryptonian
4) June 1975, Action Comics no. 448, Who is the eerie menace on the 13th floor that superman is so afraid of?-It was an interspatial teleporter that transported people to the planet Tybalt. It teleported vacationers from Tybalt to Earth under the guise of TV sportscaster Steve Lombard.
5) February 1972, Action Comics no. 409, Who is Clark Kent's Killer?-I believe it was Shalox.
As for JLA: The Nail, Superman was never around. A flat tire caused the Kents to miss his arrival on Earth. How do you mean where was the JLA? Do you mean where their base was?
Blake Petit

Brief addendum to the "The Nail" thing -- Kal-El made it to Earth, but was taken in by the Amish. He did wind up becoming Superman at the end of the series, though.

Blake Petit
June 29th 2005, 09:35 AM
Hmm... I don't think this was retconned out with Birthright, so I'm gonna go with the John Byrne, "Man of Steel #1" explanation. :D
Clark's powers developed slowly as he grew up. He realized he could defy gravity as a teenager while romping in the fields with his dog, then stumbling off a ledge and conveniently not falling. Flight came shortly after that.
Weaklingman
June 29th 2005, 09:37 AM

P.S - three more questions
1) March 1974 Action Comics no. 433 - Why is Thomas and Martha Wayne Terrorizing Superman?
2) October 1980 Action Comics no. 580 - Why does Superman and Lex like 'em bald?
3) April 1967 Action Comics no. 439 - What lies under the mummy man's bandages?
Mark Blicharz
July 1st 2005, 12:17 AM
Like who bald? If I recall, Action #580 was the issue where aliens stole Earth's moon while Superman was haunted by having to choose which lives to save due to him not being able to save everyone. He had to take an alien device from a boy.

Originally, Superman's personality could be rough and destructive. In one really early story in which the government would not help maintain low income areas unless a disaster occurred, Superman went on a rampage and created one. Superman is also nearly always portrayed as having had some hand in WWII, when the timeline permits.
Is this true? Did Superman have a hand in starting WW2?

Not in STARTING it, no (he wasn't created until 1938, after all, and the war was already underway in Europe by then), but in Golden Age stories he did lend a hand on the battlefront, including one particularly memorable short story, "What if Superman Stopped World War II?"

This is gonna take a while. They gave him new powers every other issue in the pre-crisis.
Strength-Upper limit unknown, known to cleave moons in two.
Speed-Upper limit unknown, known to reach the sun in seconds.
Durability-Able to shrug off multiple nukes, survive the depths of a black hole and a core of the sun.
Heat vision-Able to reach the temperatures of the core of a sun. Has repaired a hole in reality as well as reheated Earth in seconds.
Cold breathe-Able to freeze almost anything. Temperatures drop well below zero.
Microvision-Able to see individual strains of DNA.
Macrovision-Able to see to the edges of the universe.
Hearing-Able to hear a pin drop anywhere in the world at any given time. Has such control he can pinpoint certain words and tune out the rest of the conversations of the world.
Telekinesis-Very limited TK field surrounds his body, preventing him and anything/anyone he touches from damage.
Telepathy-Limited telepathy, able to communicate with other telepaths. Also able to mentally suggest things to others, such as different facial features to protect his identity.
Hypnosis-Able to hypnotize anyone at anytime.
Mathematics-Able to do math very fast in his head.
Weaving-Able to weave very fast.
Electromagnetic manipulation-Only had this as Superman Blue/Red but could manipulate any energy he came in contact with.
Flight-Able to traverse space unaided by anyone or anything. Can breathe in depths of space without an oxygen tank.
That should be most of them, some I have to think on if they actually happened or if my mind is playing tricks on me.

Four times. Hush which was a draw since Batman hit Superman once with a K ring and couldn't hit him again or his hand would break,Dark Knight Returns where Batman won, Superman Armaggedon 2001 where Batman won, and New Son where Batman won also. And people say Superman is overpowered....
In DKR, Batman won only cause Superman was severely depowered and he[Batman] also had help from Green Arrow and that girl Robin. In Hush, Batman admitted that if Superman wanted to he could kill him in the blink of an eye using his superspeed.

It was never exactly demonstrated, but the implication seemed to be that he'd absorbed so much energy at that point that any time spent away from a yellow sun would be negligible.

Superfriends, JLA, JL, he's a reserve for the JSA, World's Finest, and the Legion.
Tell all powers of superman including an EXACT description for each one (for example, how exactly fast is he.)
Strength-Upper limit unknown, ever increasing, however he has been able to hold a white dwarf in his hands.
Speed-Upper limit unknown, known to fly to the sun in seconds.
Durability-Upper limit unknown, took a blast as powerful as a million one hundred megaton bombs going off at once with only a minor concussion.

Macro vision-Able to see to the ends of the universe by focusing his vision.
Micro vision-Able to see individual DNA strains.
EM spectral vision-Able to see all the different ends to the EM spectrum with his vision.
X-ray vision-Can see through any object save lead.
Hearing-Can focus his hearing to hear a pindrop anywhere on the planet at any given time. Can key in on key words at any given time.
Telekinesis-Unconscious ability that protects him any one he touches from harm.
Telepathy-Very limited ability that allows him to communicate with other telepaths, shield his mind from telepaths and make people forget his facial features so they can't put together that he looks like Clark Kent.
Torquasm Rao-Mental discipline that gives allows him to fight on the astral plane where the person with the higher willpower controls the battlefield. Also part of the Theta-State technique that allows him to fight in a dream like state.
All of the love interests of Superman.
Lois Lane, Wonder Woman, Maxima, Lana Lang, Cat Grant.
How many times he fought with the Flash, the winners of each fight and how did he beat them.
Superman never really fought the Flash. They've raced several times with the Flash winning by a nose.
Exactly what happened in the fight between Superman and Spiderman.
Which crossover? There were three that featured Superman and Spider-man together.
Why in the cartoon Justice League Unlimited he nevers uses his super-speed.
The answer is because speed is the Flash' thing, having Superman use his superspeed would make the Flash pointless.

Was published in 1976. Superman fights Doc Ock and Spidey fights Luthor. They capture them, get sent to jail but they break free and make a new plan to get Spidey and Superman to fight. Luthor boosts Spidey's strength to Superman's level and they fight, Superman however wins. And at the end, they join forces, defeat Luthor's and Ock's plot and save their girlfriends.

Actually, there have been a couple. Pre-Crisis Krypto and Post-Crisis Krypto are pretty much the same, except Post-Crisis Krypto doesn't have the human intelligence of his earlier predecessor. There was also a Bizarro Krypto (natch) and, in the early issues of his title, Superboy was given a little white puppy from Bibbo that was named "Krypto," which Bibbo found during the time Superman was "dead." Ol' Bibbo, trying to take over for Superman (the sweet lug) tried to save a sack of puppies that someone had thrown into the harbor. There was only one survivor, and he named him Krypto after his fav'rit.
