I've never read a single issue of Wonder Woman before, but I've been thinking about picking it up recently. Problem is, I've got no idea where to start.

What issue of her series would be the best place to jump in?

Any trades that are must reads?

thanks in advance

Should I take the silence as an ill omen?

Not at all -- there just aren't a lot of WW fans around here (unfortunately). I'd say a good place to start would be with the first story of Greg Rucka's run, Down to Earth, which coveniently was just released in TPB. ;)

I just started with the whole crossover with the Flash and enjoyed it. Since Rags Morales is doing the pencils starting this month & J.G. Jones the covers I think I'll probably be a regular Wonder Woman reader for atleast a little bit.

It's been that good since he took over.

I always recommend Down to earth as a starting point, after that definitley get the Bitter Rivals tpb, it catches u up more on the going's on. Rucka has a great arc in that one. and now is a great time to start with issue 215.

Allow me to second that -- 215 is a great jumping-on point for new readers. New storyline, new art team and easily accessible. :)

Down to Earth covers 195- 200, so I might actully grab everything from 201 on up, if I can still find it all on the racks (FLCS seems to have plenty of back issues).

If not, I'll jump back in at 215 as suggested :)

I know.. Bitter rivals covers 201-205. then it will be easier to find the individual issues.

Wonder Woman #214 is the second part of a story that began in Flash #219 -- if you don't have that issue, you may want to try to find it as well. (Good luck.)

I didn't realise that. I'll probably pick up the trade then.

Yeah, Flash has been flying off the stands.. er, running I suppose....

Well here's some interesting news: DC has announced they're collecting the two-part Flash/WW story in a special 96 page TPB called "Prelude to Infinite Crisis." The book will also contain a story from last year's Superman Secret Files and pages from other titles throughout the DC line. So if you can't find either of those two issues, you can get this book ($5.99) and get the whole story, plus a bunch of other stuff.

When is that due to come out?

They're rushing it for a June release, according to Newsarama.

That is great news. I was unable to pick up Wonder Woman 214 because I forgot all about it and no comic shop around my part of town got anymore in, so I will jump on this.

DC really is doing a spectacular job catering to the reader these days, aren't they? :)
