This was really good, finally giving us an update on what has been happening with Supergirl. I really liked the ending with Luthor in his new battle suit with the multi colored kryptonite glove. I'm wondering on why it is being thought that Supergirl is stronger than Superman.

I think loeb mentioned in an interview that Supergirl might be more powerful because she was absorbing solar radiation and not using her powers. So she is like a battery that has been charging a long time and never used and its PACKED with power thats ready to be unleashed

Okay, but that still doesn't explain
why the k-lipstick didn't affect her

The lipstick weakened Kal enough for Ivy's powers to get to him. Since Kara appears to be all about the dudes she'd probably feel only the slight pain of the Kryptonite, as opposed to being controlled by Ivy's largely sexual powers.

She may not be completely Kryptonian.

I dont think so. Selina is "All about the dudes" as well, yet Ivey controlled her in Hush. I think its more along the lines of Superman has become increasingly resistant to green K over there years. If Kara is truly more powerful than Clark, then that little bit of K on Ivey's lips really would have little to no effect.

Witout A Yellow Suns influence, how strong is Kryptonian?

I Know Krypton had 2 or 3g's on the surface. Are thy 3x stronger than a human of comparable size?

And yet a rock of the real green K crumped her over?

An entire rock would have a lot more kick than the particles in the lipstick.

Well, you can't argue with that. Thanks Mr. Wizard! :joker:

I think the reason is she was genetically altered by either her father or Darkside.

Didn't she get superman-punched by the rock

Superman had liquid kryptonite in his belt and he decked her.

Wow issue 20 was like reading a Grant Morrison book. It was interesting, to say the least.

The Bizarro-speak got real irritating and real old real fast. Didn't like it. But a quibble.

What? Bizarro-speak annoying? Bizarro no am my boy!! :p

But seriously, I think somebody mentioned something about the Maximums being Avengers clones? They were dead right. Soldier = Captain America, Robot = Iron Man, Skyscraper = Giant Man, the bug girl = Wasp, Viking = Thor, Bowman = Hawkeye... I think they're more like Ultimates clones though.

In that case It was interesting that Bowman was dead. A little dig, ya think at Diss? Still, Skyscraper had 'windows' on his uniform, which I found slightly amusing. But this was still a real weird issue.

I think it was more than a "little" dig, estee. ;)

I read an interview with Loeb where he says that the Maximums is basically his way of getting back at Marvel for copying DC so darn much -- Squadron Supreme, etc.

Batman was out of character though I think. I think you all know what I mean even if you don't agree.

That book was so confusing for me.....I had no clue what was going on the whole issue. Only like the scenes with Kyrptonite Man made any sense at all.

Bats out of character? Ehh.. a little.

I think Loeb is trying to keep us in the dark for now. By the end of the arc it will all make sense.

Speaking of the Krpytonite Man/Captain Atom thing... I have a theory. Cap flew into the K-meteor to destroy it right, so he had to abosrb a buttload of K-radiation. That's probably how the Kryptonite Man thing came about. But who was the other consciosnesss in his body? Could it be Major Force (Atom absorbed his energy when Force blew up in Japan, S/B #4...) but both Atom and Force have appeared in other books since then so that kinda confused me.

REALLY confusing issue, only good about it was the art and Batzarro, I really liked him, he should appear in mainstream Gotham sometimes

I don't think Batzarro should ever show up in regular Batman arcs. He already has Batmite to contend with. But as a brief cameo (or a recurring character over this arc) I think he's quaint.

That having been said, issue 20 was NOT a good jumping-on point. Holy crap I'm confused.

I just ordered the trades from X-World and some back issues to fill me in (yay X-worldcomics.com mega sale :) ) so I hope they will help.
