View Full Version : Anybody actually have a copy of OMAC?

I think this comic is like the Loch Ness Monster...everyone says it exists but no body has actually seen it.

Two weeks after its supposed release and the book is gonzo...I can't find it anywhere. I get glimpses out of the corner of my eye every now and then, but when I try to focus on it...bam its gone! :hrm:

So has anyone actually managed to get a hold of this thing...and if you have, care to comment on it? Is it worth scouring the earth for trying to locate it?

It must have been underprinted- no one has it. Apparently all the comic shops in Toronto sold out of it by 2pm the day it came out. Hence why my review is taking so long- I have to get a copy of it- I've just managed to download the file in full, for reviewing purposes... I saw it at the Con this past weekend for $10 CDN though.

I easily got a copy, but that is probably because I live in North Dakota. In fact I think one of the comic shops I go to still has some issues, I swear I saw one today.

I got a copy a week after it came out, my comic shop had to reorder more copies.

Do you guys not have pull lists? :P

I've got it, and it rules. :)

Yeah, here in the Golden Horseshoe every store I went to under-ordered, cuz no one thought it would be that good...then DC Countdown came out and suddenly its more relevant. Go figure.

Adam, I saw it for $20 at a con...nerts to that.

No, Blake, I don't have a pull list...I like living on the edge.

Actually, Adam, DC overprinted by 50 percent of the initial orders. It just took off a lot faster than anyone expected it to after DC Countdown came out.

I don't need a pull list, I never have problems getting what I want. It is fun going to the shop and browsing and picking out my own copy of what I want. I'm not big on the condition of a comic but I would rather damage my book instead paying for a damaged book because of the bumbling hands of someone else.

I like the browsing also, but I only get to the comic shop about once a month so I'd be toast without one. Plus I think the preorder hlps support books that I like.

I saw a couple copies of OMAC today at the local store. Unfortunately, Day of Vengeance and Villains United are nowhere to be found in Kent, so I'll have to catch up friday, hopefully, at a store an hour north.

Gettin' worn down.....might just start a partial pull-list somewhere.

We'll see what happens this summer. ;)

My store still has copies of Omac, DoV, Villians United, in fact when they actually sell out of things it's a miracle...I think they ordered the largest amount they could get though.

As it's been established that Symphony and I shop at the same store, I can second his vow that it is still available. Good ****, too.

Well, all you Americans are just a bunch of lucky ducks. Up here we can't get an issue cuz of blizzards are making it difficult to ship the book to our igloos. :#

I wondered into my comic store said I want to try all the DC Countdown mimis and they went and got me Omac, which I did not even think was out that week. I thought it was a promising start and will be getting the second one.

Hahaha... 8 months of the year I'm north of Toronto in Peterborough, and we actually have delays for comics because of periods of snow, and I'm not even talking blizzards or snow storms. I'll call my favourite shop in Toronto, and they'll have all their stuff easily, but up in Peterborough, the snow got 'em. "#

Dude, like I said, I got the LAST issue of Villains United. A guy walked in right after me, "Dude, you guys got Villains United?" Sorry...

Sadly, they sold out of OMAC Project fairly quickly. They do, however, have a ton of copies of Days of Vengeance...

Pull lists, you say? Verrrry interesting... *strokes evil beard*

If anybody is still looking for this just go to westfieldcomics.com...they probably still have some but after FCBD it's probably hard to say.

I guess I should go and prostrate myself before my comic book store owner; little knew I how completely unworthy I am of her great service. :D Not to brag, but I got all three without any trouble. (Yes, pull lists, try them you'll like them, and you can still browse!) A friend in California warned that Villians was selling out fast. But I think it is a more difficult read than OMAC. I guess my problem is that basically I am not a big DC reader, so I have almost no clue who some of these folks are.

I have a friend who regularly has trouble getting certain books, so I put them on my list and buy them for him; if he decides he doesn't want it, my shop lady takes it back. I do the same thing with my subscription books- if they come in the mail after I got it at the store, I can return the unread volume. This is called Customer Service, I beleive, and if you folks don't all get it, demand it!! Not to be a prima donna, but it is my money, I work hard for it, can spend a fair amount in a store, and should be treated well for my business. I could rant at length on this subject, but that's a different thread, isn't it?

I can understand how all of the IC minis could be daunting to someone not familiar with DC Comics -- but that's the great thing about places like Comixtreme. Any question you have, there are bound to be a dozen know-it-alls here ready to answer it. :D

Fie on you! Fie, I say! I love second printings -- gives people a chance to get the story they want without paying exorbitant secondary market prices or having to wait for the trade paperback. How is that a bad thing?

Plus I like saying "fie". :D

I actually saw something quite amazing at a local comic book store this weekend. It was a first printing of omac issue one. The guy put it back on the shelves, I think it must have been in somebodys pull list and the person who reserved it never showed up so the store decided to put it on the shelves. I already have my issue, and am a fan - not a collector so I left it for somebody looking for it. So much for not being able to find a copy, I guess none of you guys lives in texas.

Well, I live in Texas and have seen plenty of copies around, but DFW is what I like to call 'good comic books country' and I know a lot of the comics store supply issues people have don't usually crop up around here.

Fanatix
May 29th 2005, 07:29 PM
Ah, DFW, how I miss thee. If I still lived there I might be able to find some elusive flash back issues.
