Marvel may have been snapping up the young bucks in the art game for a while, but if you ask me, DC just topped 'em all. A five-year exclusive deal with George Peréz. I couldn't be happier -- the man is as great an artist as ever, and with everything DC is up to these days, they couldn't have a better artist on-board.

I just read the article over at Newsarama...what a great idea DC had to ask him to do the covers for Infinite Crisis...shows alot of class. DC also showed alot of respect to sign him to such a long contract and it's obvious that that's where he wants to be.
On a side note I like it how he said that DC was ready to give him all the perks so to speak with money and Marvel had alot to work out...makes you wonder what's going on with Marvel.

A big move like this shows me why I think DC is going on the right direction and if they keep it up, Marvel will be trying to keep up with them in the future.

wow....
Long article, but very interesting and cool to read. :D
But it also reminds me that acquiring the NOVEL of Crisis on Infinite Earths STILL leaves me with the need to get the actual TPB, if only for the art by then. ;)
Hadn't contemplated the man's age...if I'm reading right and he's nearing 50, that means he was late-20s when he did Crisis and the like?
Here I am, I'll be exactly mid-20s when i finish grad school. :joker:

Hopefully Perez's health won't get in the way of his work. It hasn't been that great as of late.

Darn it, I was counting on George rescuing the Avengers after all this Dissassembled nonsence has run its course.

He's better off at DC. ;)

So what book would you guys like George to take on first? I mean as the full-time artist, cover and interiors, maybe even writer.
JLA...Green Arrow (never seen that before)...Titans (just to see someone draw Raven properly!!)...maybe a Vertigo title, yea, Perez on Swamp Thing.

Perez on Swamp Thing? Eh -- not until they get a better writer on the book.
I'd like to see him do the high-profile multicharacter stuff he's best at.

Maybe he could save Robin from its horrible artwork.

Grant Morrison could write Swamp Thing, I'm sure he can find an vacant hour in the day to squeeze it inbetween Seven Soldiers.
Wow...Grant and George...sweet.

I think Robin is fine as it is. :sigh:
Anyway... Perez on Flash could be good, if it wasn't for Porter already being great on that book.

Robin's going to get an excellent new artist in a few issues anyway. :)
