I've been hearing a lot about Waid's Legion of Super Heroes, but I've never read an issue. Unfortunately, most of what I've heard is kind of negative.

Anyone out there read it and can give me an idea of what you think about it?

Who on EARTH is telling you negative stuff and why hasn't somebody smacked them across the face with a frozen halibut???

I've been a Legion fan for as long as I've been reading comics. Some of the first comics I ever read were Legion and Green Lantern. And lemme tell you -- Legion hasn't been this good in years. Sift through the reviews section of this site, trust me, you'll see a lot of praise.

I personally find Waid's Legion tepid. It is a GREAT read if you are a fan of the Legoin and know about the characters (Blake...) - Waid just hasn't sold me yet on this book's greatness for a newer reader.

That being said, you could sure do worse. It is way better than a lot of the garbage on the market these days :).

I enjoy the title, but like Craig said, if you don't have knowledge of the characters, it may not be in your taste.

I'll admit that it's probably a better title if you're a fan of the property -- a lot of the appeal is seeing the new takes on characters like Colossal Boy and Phantom Girl. But it's also very accessible and very well-written. Tepid? I can't see how anyone could make that argument.

Well, I can say that I had no knowledge of the Legion (the only book that I read before this new series with the Legion was Final Night) and I had no trouble getting into it. Waid's Legion is a one of my favorite books right now, and I think one of DC's best right now (And they got a lot of great books). I agree with Blake, it is very accessible for new readers.

I will admit to you guys that I have not been a fan of this team prior to Waid's "re-imagining" of this teams continuity, however, I would like to say that I find that it is a very compelling read. I suggest that people who are familiar with what the Legion stood for in the past should keep an open mind.

I don't think that's a problem, Mike. Most of the old-school readers of the Legion that I've talked to are really enjoying this run.

Yeah, I know almost zero about the DC universe in general, let alone Legion, but I love this comic.

I have no idea what Craig means by "only long time fans would like this title"...
