Hey, does anyone here collect BOP? I've been reading it a lot lately and I was REALLY impressed with the last issue (#81). I think Simone does a really good job of getting me to buy the next issue.
The question I have for people who have read the issue is about Huntress. Do you think she's really quit being Huntress, or do you think her recent actions are all a ruse to shake up the Gotham mafia.

Hell ya...BoP is great. Just check out my avatar to see how much I love it. Been a fan since Student and Sensai.
And yea the last couple of issues were the best in a long time.
Of course they're always good, buuut the last couple of arcs left me a bit cold and the art was a little lazy.
This latest one makes me feel that things are back on track.
As for your question...its probably a ruse. Though how she got Savant and Creote to go in with her is something I'd like to know. Maybe she's leading them on, thinking they're gonna take over the mob and then do a switcher-oo.

I haven't read last issue yet and I might not be the only in the forum, so please use spoiler tags.
As the for the rest, I'm also a big fan of BoP since Simone took over and she never disappointed me. The writing is great, the art is beautiful and funny (Benes) : great team

well i bought a bunch of bop issues off ebay. like 10 issues before the current arc. i thought it was ok. but holy crap, this new arc in singapore is so great. hot chicks, drug trafficking, legendary martial arts experts, hostile mob take overs, super tough guy lines (in 82 with wildcat. if you read it, you know what i mean). seriously, whats not to like?!?

I actually like the new guy better than Benes. His art is more cleaner. Yes, I've heard of the lack of noses people have, but having no nose is a small price to pay for clean lines.
BoP is back on track.

Since I'm really not sure what constitutes a spoiler, I'm just going to color
most of the post white.
Just read issue 82...wow.
Ted is such a cool character and it's so neat to see Simone write Canary in such a human, emotional role. And it's even better to see Ted kick some major booty in response to it. You really get the sense that these characters truly care about each other. For a guy, like myself, that doesn't have much experience with these characters outside of BOP, I really feel as if I've got a grip on their relationship. Not only that, the story is exciting. What more can you ask for?
The Huntress storyline is also shaping up nicely. Simone is doing a really good job of just giving me just enough information to keep me interested. It's especially interesting to see Savant and Huntress working together, what's up with that?
There are very few stories that come out in a year that would make the choice between a comic and a loaf of bread very hard...the way BOP is going right now is a possible candidate.

I like BOp, I have not gotten that behind the new format yet but we will see.
I hope it proves to be a stable lineup and not a rotating as per mission spec type of thing.

I read on X-Axis, a pretty good site for reviews, and Paul O'Brien, the author brought up some good points about the new direction. That the title seems to be simply a venue to show off some b-list female characters. I don't believe it, but I have to acknowledge that it can seem that way.

It's only felt that way at all since the roster change after Canary left. Before that it's only ever been 2-3 females which have been used a lot in DC over the years and had a strong male supporting cast from the beginning.
The current spy-smasher arc has been a bit of a let down which is a shame. The book could have hit a new level of greatness if the first arc without dinah had been a home run.
