Mother Box?

Hey all,

Just reading Superman/Batman and it made several references to Mother Box Technology. It's not the first time I saw that reference but am not sure what that is. Little help?

A mother box, is a little computer they use on Apokalips and New Genisis. Its sentient and has the ability to summon Boom tubes, along with lots of other nifty abilities.

The Mother Box is tied directly into the Source. It can heal, amp powers, open boom tubes, etc. It's completely sentient. It's mostly used only on New Genesis and Apokalips, but Barda has one on Earth as do the JLA. The Father Box is the only computer more advanced then the Mother Box.

But the Mother Box DOES have the ability, by shooting him a dirty enough look, to make the Father Box turn off the game and go mow the lawn. :D

And when not mowing the lawn...

What makes father box better? I've never heard of it. I guess I should have known there was a father box. If its better, why doesn't everybody use that instead of the mother box?

And when not mowing the lawn... Takes over the couch and TV remote. Really... that's a downside.

And now that I think about it, "Mother Box" really sounds like a vaginal reference. But I do believe I'm overthinking it (as I'm wont to do)

I'm looking for a bio of what it can do. It basically can do anything a Mother Box can do to a great extent.
