lets face - it. Batman's villians are looney and some of them are cool and some are just plain.... dumb.

But who is the coolest?

Who is the Stupidest?

post it here!

coolest? Right now i'm liking black mask. He's smart, sadistic, sick, and now untouchable. It won't last though so the best ever is joker.

Stupidest? Maxie Zeus, by far the lamest, he hasn't even been used in years. Oh god, that just means some idiot writers bound to drag him up now.

GreenLantern

Maxie Zeus was a bad idea gone wrong. The dude tries to be nuts to the point where he's cool. Its not working. Only the Joker can pull that off.

Best: Its a tossup for me between Zzasz and Ra's

Worst: hands down the Mad Hatter, I have never liked the guy....Maybe its his top Hat.

Best: Tossup between Joker and Ra's. Ra's was always a well written, intelligent villain, whereas Joker matched Batman so well because of how psychotic he was, and the places where he took Batman, with regards to wanting to kill, and cross the line.

Worst: Never really liked the Ventriloquist guy.

Best: It's between joker and Two face, depends who's writing them

Worst: It's kinda hard to take the Ventriloquist serious, no matter how hard writers try....

Unless he's talking about someone's mother - then she would be the worst villian in any title!

but seriously it's probably a typo

worst: Killa Croc

Guy is such a loser...he brings nothing to the table and as never been it interesting story arc that couldn't have been told without him.

Other than being crazy and shooting guns what else is Two-Face capable of?
(not trying to bash him just curious)

Adam Chapman
June 28th 2005, 09:26 PM
Two-Face is compelling because he's not just crazy, but torn between two sides. He's part Harvey Dent, a once respected DA, who had passion for his job and for justice, and on the other side, he's everything he once fought against. A twisted multiple personality. His obsession with flipping the coin and doing what it tells him to do gives him an interesting hook, and his interplay with Batman is made more fascinating because Dent was a man that Bruce felt they shared a similar bond, like with Gordon, a man who also believed in justice and was against corruption no matter what. He sees a fallen ally, which makes it hard to fight against him, with his own personal feelings towards Dent.

ok...... I also hear he had some conflict's with yours truly.....

Robin

Two-Face was almost the first person to kill a Robin. Dick still carries the scares from what Dent did to him.

He is also one of only like 3 Bat-villians to ever cross over and take on people outside of Gotham. Joker, Ras Al Ghoul, Two-Face, and as of late the Riddler.

He is as smart as Batman, not technologically wise but in terms of Deductive/raw intellect.

He is the star of some of the most compelling Bat-stories ever told...or at elast one of the star players.

Last but not least I like him because he is crazy. People say the Joker is crazy but what crazy stuff has he done? I mean really. The joker isn't crazy he is evil. If someone shot the Joker today it wouldn't be a tragedy. With Two-Face you can see the madness, the obsessive conpulsiveness, the irrational jumps of logic, and most importantly, the mental ill man who desprately needs help. Bruce Wayne, Jim Gordan, and Havery Dent made a pact to clean up Gotham. Wayne scarficed his life, Gordan his family, and Dent his sanity...he is a true tragic villian.

READ

Batman no. 1 - Joker Returns

Batman - The Killing Joke

Batman - A death in the family

And just look at him....... he's a maniac genius who goes around tormenting/killing people for fun, and to prove a point. He thinks everything he does is the ultimate prank/ joke (ex - killing Jason Todd, shooting Barbara in the spine....)

Or read Batman: Arkham Asylum. It has one of the best visual representations of Joker in print (done by Dave McKean). And unlike in many other stories, it shows Joker as utterly insane and not just evil (which I feel is a valid complaint).

But, I've also got to pick Two-Face as Batman's best villain. Once upon a time I would have chosen Joker but Two-Face's twisted soul is just too compelling for me to ignore.

Worst Batman villain: Hush. He's a superhero's villain, not a detective or criminologist's villain, and that's how I like my Batman served.

Oh yeah, that too...... knew I was missing something.

But now that you mention it a eco-terrorist doesnt seem like a detective's villian either.....but what do I know?

The best ever, two-face is a great complex character.

But Joker is like a character foil to batman, two characters base their life's decisions on just 'one rotten day'. No special powers , just mad wits and cunning intellect. One lived in the shadow of madness. but the other is the madness into himself. Based on that , i pick the joker.

Worst villians: from the movie, Bane

yea bane was pretty bad, but my friend LOVES Batman & Robin the movie. I told him he was crazy, did you see george clooney's batsuit? no way he's ever going to be stealthy in all that silver.

Best... Two Face, for all the reasons stated above. But, question, what did he do to Dick that almost killed him? I never heard about that...

Worst... when done wrong, Riddler. He's a low rent drama queen who has to tell people what his plan's going to be in the form of an annoying riddle.
But that said, my favorite Riddler stories are "Hush" and Green Arrow: City Walls... cause they show there's more to him than just crappy riddles and jokes.

Comics best: Joker beacause though techniquley 2face is as or more crazy, but Jokers plans wether insane, evil, both, or otherwise, are so much more fun to read about. There is no limit to how over the top his plans can be, as long as alot of people die/almost die. And his dioluge is all jokes, and thats one of the few times you can laugh along with a homicidal maniac. Plus Harly is a cool side kick and one of my favorite female charactors ever.

Comics worst: Mad Hatter... i mean wtf.

Moves Best: The Riddler/Scarecrow. Both actors did wonderful jobs

Movies Worst: Joker / Mr Freeze. Jack N did it ok but his make up was terrible. and Arnold... agian... wtf.

In my opinion, I think that the best Batman villain is the Joker, although I like so much the stories with Man-Bat.

The worst villain, I think I gotta say is Catwoman maybe??? I don't like her so much... sorry I have been reading Batman since 1 year ago so so...

I think the best are Bane and Joker. Joker because he's the Joker and Bane because he "BROKE THE BAT"

Worst probably has to be penguin imo, he's just a fat idiot.

Scarecrow

Best would definitely be Joker. But I have a soft spot for Hush, Scarecrow and Two-Face. All four hit the right mark in intimidating the Dark Knight on a personal level.

Worst is the Ventriloquist and Scarface - no other character has ever made me want to never read the letter g ever again

Best: Joker. Others mentioned Ra's and he's my second favorite but none of the other Batman villains are quite as gruesomely psychotic in a charismatic way as the old Joker.

Worst: Toss up between Mad Hatter and Scarface. Both of them are lame ideas made lamer by the fact that Batman should in all rights be able to take these two A-clowns down in .05 seconds or less. Some old wonky geezer with mind control cards? Please. And oooh, a puppet with a dummy controlling him! Scary.

The Joker is the acme of super villain, be it Batman's gallery or any other.

As for the worst of the rogues gallery, toss up between penguin and Scar-face. Riddler has some weak showings, but potential to be a good foil. Scarecrow is an excellent villain, as is Two-Face and Ra's. Mad Hatter might not be well liked, but I think in the Loeb/Sale collection Haunted Knight Bruce discusses why the Hatter is such a great villain. Tweedle Dee and Dum don't really count for me, because they are not big enough to make the cut.

Now Scar-face is just dumb, period. That is inarguable, and hopefully the character has finally been put to rest. Penguin, some like, I always found him useless. What is so great about an avian-loving midget? He isn't nuts like the rest of the gang, and isn't scary, more like disgusting.

The small time villains shouldn't count. It should only be the main ones.

Well, Deacon Blackfire made that list and he's not the best, but his moment in the sun was pretty bright. Still, most of that list can cease to exist for all I care.
