Other than Batman! (It can be a hero, villian, civilian, cop, any person you would find in the Batman genre)

Mines is the Joker

P.S - Sorry about all these favorite threads, I was just curious :~(

I'd have to say Commissioner Gordon, when he's written properly. He's a hero, one of the greatest, and it really burns me when he's written like a bumbler (i.e. the movie Batman and Robin).

Of course batman, but besides him

1. Robin
2. Superman as a Batman supporting player
3. Nightwing
4. Commisioner Gordon
5. Batman pretending to be Bruce Wayne
6. Bruce Wayne (the mask)
7. Two Face
8. Batgirl (barbara)
9. Riddler

Tim Drake. He will surpass the Batman, I'm sure.

Oh yeah, Bruce Wayne counts (just not his alter-ego Batman)

Oracle.

She follows the code that Bruce made, but uses her own unique methods.

It is a tie between Tim Drake/Robin, he is a detective on par with Batman, and Commisioner Gordon, ever since I read Batman Year One he has really grown on me.

Tim Drake or Alfred for me. My favorite time line was in Teen Titans when he broke out of the tower and someone said "You just lied to Starfire," and he said, "I lie to Batman." Just great.

Classic Tim moment. I loved it too.

Mine is Nightwing. He's almost as skilled as Bruce in everything. He's almost as good a detective, he's almost as good a fighter. But there is something that Nightwing has done that Batman hasnt. Nightwing has kept in touch with his humanity better than Batman has. Nightwing is the only one in the Bat family who will constantly stand up to Bruce. Like Bruce said in "Hush" Nightwing has never been afraid to say what he wanted to Bruce, and he's earned that right. He is a very interesting leader, doing what needs to be done, but having insecurities in his leadership, despite what others tell him. He's also an awesome role model and big brother for Tim. All and all makes out for a very interesting character.

Nightwing would be tied for Gordon with me. They're both wonderfully complex characters, fighting the same fight but in far different ways (at least when Gordon was still fighting the fight)

I've gotsta give the props to m'man TIM! (sorry about the gangsta speak, I'm listening to "The Chronic" by Dre atm) He's a skilled detective, a natural born leader...and a little easier to identify with then Dick (I mean, really, how many of us grew up in the circus? But how many of us grew up as computer nerds who were made fun of in school?)

And the Titans line that was mentioned above ("I lie to Batman")...That just seals it.

Nightwing, for me. Pretty much for all the reasons Magnus2k posted. It's his insecurities and how he deals with them that sticks with me. And I definitely agree with the humanity comment.

Out of the cast that aren't in tights, I'd say Gordon and Alfred. Bats doesn't trust anyone like he does Alfred. The relationship they have(when it's written well) is great. I love the snide remarks Alfred makes.

Year 1 made me a Gordon fan.

It's not that he is the best that makes me like him, it's that he is so human. And well he is the best.

Have they said he "is" the best, or that he "will be" the best. I know they've said he will be.
