I am with you, this was an awesome week for comics. I have been getting alittle down on comics lately, what with the rise in prices with both companies the singles just aren't really worth the price to me anymore, except with a few titles I still pick up regularly that I think are still worth 3 bucks, but with Infinite Crisis #5, Batman Annual, Detective comics #817, and Hellboy this week it sure lifted my spirits. Detective was my fave this week. I was a fan of the brooding prick Batman, but like Morrison said in a recent review, this Batman will be more like the Batman of Neal Adams time, the kind of badass fun Batman, which I am also a fan of.

For the first time in ages a Batman comic that for me hit every correct note.

I literally wanted to cheer out loud almost every page.

It really captured the mood of the character and Gotham City quite well. I am really looking forward to this story.

I was waiting for him to slap down the new detective... "How dare you speak to me, I'm the God-damned Batman."

But what was with the drawing of Robin? Why did he look like a WWII-era Japanese characature?

 Very good issue indeed, but what really has changed with the characterization of Batman?

When he completely blows off that officer, he seems kinda moody. I don't expect him to "Hey there chum", but just some acknowledgement of the lady would have been nice. Then again, could be due to the events of the previous years.

Can't wait til Dini takes over!
