i always liked the legion
i fell in love with that title during giffen's 1st tenure on it
i endured la roque's horrible art and was overjoyed when giffen re-launched it with the 5yearslater in 1990.
i liked the sw6 batch and accepted the zero hour re-launch of the series even if it was a bit too ..... happy and shiny for my tastes.
was interested in the legio lost series but did not like all the legion worlds issues (well, just one of them was good).
abnett and lanning gave us a breathtaking legion, with ra's al ghul and computo and the roboticans.
then it turned...sour.
they added superboy (god spare me) and had this nonsense team up with the titans
and then... waid and kitson, now with supergirl
a whole universe where if you are under a certain age, you're wise, you grow up, you're a moron.
i have no words that can be printed to properly describe my feelings towards the current series.
it's an insult, plain and simple.
so, my question is, has anyone any news about the title?
when are the 2 murderers going to leave it?

You know, this lastest incarnation of the League just seems really fool of themselves. As if kids know what to do and what is best for the universe. With age comes knowledge and to say that you reach a certain age you are the enemy just really turns me off more to the idea. This reminds me of Kids Next Door. I have not read the first 8 issues of the new series, but I just want to know how did they resolve the previous Legions during the Teen Titans team-up.

I have not read the first 8 issues of the new series

I think we just struck upon the most pertinent segment of that entire post... How on EARTH can you condemn a series you haven't read?

Personally, I love the new Legion. I hope Waid and Kitson have a long, healthy run (and considering the fairly healthy sales, it doesn't look like they're in any danger of going away any time soon.)

I like the new Legion too. I been reading it since 9. I stopped collecting it during the last issue before OYL since I rather trade wait most of the comics. I just recently picked up the Teen Titans trade that had them meet the previous Legion continuity and I am looking forward to seeing how that resolves itself. In fact this Wed I am going to be picking up the first trade of the new Legion series.

You know its kind of sad, that the only title/character set that was truly destroyed by the Crisis was the Legion, I have quite an extensive run of Superboy (eventually LoSH) and nothing other than the GDS from later years really compares to those 60' and 70' stories...

I have been trying to like the new LoSH but the sort of whiney hostility that seems to jump out just ticks me off. The Legion was about young people taking a stand, not about old people screwing up the universe and the somehow hipper young people saving it...

I liked Waid's Legion...unfortunately, not quite enough to keep it from the chopping block when it came to saving money.

While I enjoyed the series, it wasn't like Birds of Prey or Teen Titans, which I am "giddy schoolboy" excited to read every month. When OYL was announced I chose to cut out most of my DC monthlies and Legion was on that list.

For what it's worth, I did enjoy the title, just not enough to keep collecting it through my own personal comic infinite crisis. I think Waid has an excellent grasp on what makes the characters fun and he utilizes that very well. I just don't think it was for me.
