Anyone made up their mind on this? I keep trying to hype myself up to get it, but it is so expensive. I can get 52, or four individual books for the same cost. I can probably stay abreast of all the major developments online, but I am worried I will miss big things if I do not grab 52. Anyone decided yea or nay? Undecided?

I think i will pick up most of the issues. I'm curious to know what happened in the missing year. I'm looking forward to the issues that have the DCU timeline in there. You're right it'll be costly for some, but look at it this way: Say you collected Gotham Central, Flash, Wonder Woman, and all the Superman titles. GC, and one of the Supes titles got canceled, and WW and Flash are on hiatus for a couple months. It evens out as far as $ spent on books long enough for you to see whether or not you want to keep collecting 52.

I've thought about picking it up, but ultimately it is quite the investment to pick up every issue. Its four extra issues a month, and thats a fair bit. I'm interested but doubt I could pick up enough to make it worth my while, although I will make sure to read it somehow. And eventually it WILL be in trades, broken down into months or something, to make it easier to get ahold of it. Seeing how big a deal the series is supposed to be, I'm sure the trades won't take TOO long.

I'm crazy enough that I'm picking up the entire run...

Yeah, I know..that's 10 bucks a month...

But I'm just intrigued...

Heh, what's the price of 52 again? If its $2.50 US that means its either $3 CDN or $3.50 CDN, making it cost $12/month or $14/month, with taxes included... that doesn't look friendly... :p

10 a month is expensive for one single title. Like I said I can grab 3-4 titles for the price of this, or I can drop it and have a fun night at a dive bar. I am leaning towards no and relying on some sort of update thread (please let Blake read this!) which will explain everything and keep me up to date.

From what Ive read on a Newsarama article a little while ago, they will not release a trade of any sort untill there series is %100 Finished. I think thats a really sleezy move on DC parts. Just another way they are trying to making it so you cant afford NOT to. I for one am not gunna get it. I hope Cx does a recap of each issue, but im not holding my breath. I may watch the solicits, and if it is in arcs, I will get whatever one focuses on The Question the most, cause he needs more face time (and oooooh yes that was pun intended). But agian, Im not holding my breath. Forunatly the only DC titles I read are Green Arrow, JLA, Titans, and Superman/Batman. Ill probably get osme of the other titles that are a result of Crisis, like Secret Six, but I think ill be fine with out this title.

And I wanna go on the record as strongly disliking how DC is going about this series. IMO they are blowing something good they had with Crisis. 52 is a cool idea, but its too expensive, and if you dont buy the issues some of the best DC titles will be less enjoyable. :shame: :sigh: :shame:

I'll wait for the trades then, which means my interest will wane, which means DC won't get my money, and I'll end up reading the issues that friends buy or that I can find online (which is extremely easy). Either way, I, the reader, win, and my wallet doesn't lose.

I'm going to be Adam's new friend so I can find these online. DC is def. my bread and butter, but I would rather grab a few more OYL books than just 52. I'm just glad that OYL is looking so good thus far, because my Marvel interest is on the ropes.
