Inspired by a post by Mark Blicharz, whats the most unbelievable PISish thing u seen from anything superman related.

all the ammo i need come from the Superman 4 movie.

i am torn between supes losing to a solar powered villain and rebuilding the Great Wall with his vision....

I think anytime Supes beat Darkseid was not really believable. Supes is Uber, but he's like 2 levels of uber. Darseid is like 4 levels of Uber. What's 4 minus 2?I'd put Spectre at a 4 and a half and the presence at a five.

Superman repairing a tear in reality with heatvision. I doubt the thing that would save comicearth from a reality tear is a guy who agitates molecules very fast, but DC believes it is so. Don't ask me why heat would serve, seeing as how Space is freezing. I just kinda ignore this feat, seeing as how stupid it really is. A feat for the sake of a feat if you will, imo.
But then again, I don't consider alot of Supermans outrageous feats to have been done by "Superman" per se. I believe he subs out for Super" I can do anything the plot demands" man.
Or fighting without his heart working. If you can continue to function without the hearts help, then it isn't the heart, for the heart is integral to the bodies ability to function. Thus the name of heart. Superman's organ that stopped working and yet he continued to fight was not his heart. Simply an organ in the place where the human heart would be. More of Mr. "I can do anything" Man.
Too many to name and overload my suspension of disbelief meter with.

when he sneezed and blew out the sun .

when he towed (as Superboy) a dozen planets to another Galixy with a single chain.

when he held a black hole in his hand

when he punched (with his bare hands) through time.

Haah haah haa! You're right, those ARE ridiculous. I mean, I don't mind Superman, but some of that stuff is JUST PLAIN STUPID! How can you PUNCH THROUGH TIME? Just think about it. The writer's who thought of that one should be fired and never allowed to work in comics again. Wouldn't he not be Superman if he sneezed out the Sun?? Isn't that what gives him his power. And yes, if he did that, that would be stupid to. In fact, the only one I'd even say is somewhat possible is the planets one. But even that doesn't make since, seeing as how the populations of said planets would die for a number of reasons:
A) There would be no source of adequate heat; NO Suns to warm the planets
B) Plant-life need the sun for photosynthesis, the process that provides oxygen. Without that, all life dies
C) The gravitational pull from having that many planets so close to eachother would force the planets to collide, along with having devastating effects on the oceans of each planet.
D) I finish this with another rant on how stupid any of those "Feats" and ideas were. Even Superman fans have to admit that those "feats" are just stupid and ridiculous. I can handle Supes having super strength, I can deal with him having heat vision, ice breath, flight, and whatnot, but the ones Complex_brother posted are just too stupid for words. I hope the writers that came up with those ideas never come to Marvel. I hope they never come to DC ( again) for that matter. Sheesh!

just a point here, he didn't punch throught time, he punched through a dimensional barrier...and the shockwave of punching that barrier caused ripples throughout the space-time continuum which distorted the timeline the farther out it went..

But you missed some really fun, pre-Crisis ones..
my favorite is that Superman used super-hypnosis to make people think Clark Kent was this slouchy, dumpy, overweight guy who bore no resemblance to Superman...

I always got a laugh out of E1-Superman's building feats with superspeed, as if concrete cures any faster...

Those are PC characters and the planets along with the time shifting was PC Superboy.

Just because its PC doesn't excuse it from being totally outrageous. It may not be in continuity anymore, but its still a totally ridiculous feat. :p

Yeah. Arg! He deserves better writing than that.

Well he did move those planets at faster then light speed. And it's comic books and even more it was Silver Age. Nothing made sense then. :P

Wouldn't the most ridiculous thing be just wearing a pair of glasses as a disguise? Honestly, like you couldn't tell it was him.

Actually, no. Pre-Crisis, it was explained that his glasses gave off a radiation that hypnotized people into thinking that Clark looked like a dumpy guy.

Post-Crisis, no one thinks Superman has a secret identity. He slouches his posture, he combs his hair back, and wears the glasses, wears loose clothing. They think that Superman is Superman 24/7. Why would a guy have a secret ID and he doesn't wear a mask? Heck, Luthor was GIVEN the truth, and he didn't buy it because it didn't make sense, way back in Superman #2 by John Byrne.

I did not find it stupid.. just a little anticlimatic.... The set up was great though!! Thr first issues with Luthor exploding the Moon Headquarters, GL's ring powerless... Flash bringing back that giant guy... Every person on earth having powers!!

Man!! we need a Morrison JLA Respect Thread!!!

yeah..dont get me wrong i love morrison. everything that he touches turns to gold. not a knock on aquaman, but if morrison signed on to revive his character, aquaman is back on the list. lol. its just that every now and then, u strike out...and OWAW was one of those times. For all the great buildup and backstory...to end like that burns the soul. lol

Wait a sec....if you would. I remember the second. I remember when he did the first in ANOTHER solar system, thank goodness. But---when he held a black hole in his hand??? When was THAT? References, please.

As for the last---I know the Superman of Justice Legion A did that, and that in a sense Superboy-Prime did that, but when did "our" Superman do that?---Al

All the feats you guys think are outrageous are what made me love superman in the first place as a kid. I now have a 6 year old and he loves superman because of his outrageous feats. He loves pretending to be superman because he can " fly through outer space" and do whatever he wants. One solar system too far away from ours, no problem he pulls it closer because....well he is "superman" I guess as we get older we lose that imagination and question everything.

ridicules feat?

During the Our Worlds at War story, he flies into the sun, and becomes UBER-POWERED, and then moves a planet easliy.

If his body is capable of that, then why doesn't he do that everytime he faces a menace like Doomsday?

Because he needs to expend the energy or else he gets too overcharged. Plus he was out of control in OWAW if you remember.

Yes, but he handled it pretty good. Why not do it again, when facing (oh let's say) 1500 OMACs.......

With Doomsday he couldn't leave because there were too many lives at stake... Though when I was reading through the Death of Superman that is all i could think about. I wanted him to soak up more rays to take the ******* out lol.

Back on topic--- I would have to say when Superman moved Warworld as well. When I first saw that happening I was like Holy Hell!!!

At the time of DoS, Superman could only go like 10-50 times the speed of sound, it would have taken him a long time to fly to the sun.

As of OWAW, Superman was well into the FTL range.

An impressive but mind boggling feat. Trinity #2, Superman pushed and threw a miniature star and it's surrounding solar system without much struggling. I know it's a miniature system but eesh.

Words can't really explain that.

Not only was it dumb, it was growing to the size of a normal one. Wouldn't it mess with our own system, or someone elses? Wouldn't that kill something? Uncharacteristic of Supes  .

Eh, depends on how fast it was growing. Plus we've seen him able to plot courses on the fly for light years away.

Yeah, but it was growing really fast...I would have felt much better about it if he chucked it into a black hole or something :p . The first thing I thought when I read that was "Superman, you just threw a growing solar system into space. You guarenteed the death of at least one solar system  ."
