Basically, it's the current canonical version of Superman's origin, and it's FANTASTIC. Well worth buying.

Okay, this will be easy for future reference. I believe in the exact opposite of everything he just said.

Waid and Yu?
Hmm...this really sparked my interests in it....I think the price is going to be the deciding factor

If they've got it on sale, it should almost certainly be worthwhile.

You have a job Blake, I don't :p
I use atleast 40% of my monthly salary just to pay for the comics I buy monthly...add a TPB and It'll be at 50 % maybe even 60%....:sigh:

the reason is stopped buying superman are many, but most of all that they took the title too far away from what byrne did
and the criminal luthor thing, bleah

I'm interested in buying Birthright too, but is it available in paperback?
By the way, I love what Johns and Busiek are doing with Superman right now. I wonder if Luthor will become his old outright criminal self again.

I thought this mini was fantastic. It gives a good month prior and then like year one for Superman. It even gives a good view of Lex. I would put it on a must buy if I didn't already have all the issues (except that elusive #2, darn you).

I liked it.....until the ending where it all went pre-crisis revisioned.
But still, it's still a recommendable read.

I think, starting with Birthright, DC has been morphing Superman from what Byrne recreated (which was awesome) back into a weaker version of E1 Superman.
I like post Crisis when no one, Flash or Superman was supposed to be FTL... when everyone's powers were scaled down...

You know, I never picked up the second half of this series. Around issue 5 or 6, I lost my hours at work and had to cut out games/comics/alcohol/cigarettes just to pay rent.
I call it my dark ages.
I should go find the rest of it. I enjoyed what I read.

I really enjoyed Birthright. It was an up to date fresh eploration of why Superman does his super thing.
Had interesting points to it all over the place also.

Oh I hate when I miss out on the last issue of a mini-series that I was really into.

It can be.
Speaking of 12 issue "maxi series"
Few back when they had Generations III, that thing got so confusion with all the jumping around after I had all 12 I had to sit down and read all 12 in one sitting just to get it all straight.
