I had the opportunity to read Action Comics #836 while away on a business trip. Excellent comic, and I realize that this is an Infinite Crisis crossover; another series I have recently picked up.
What made this comic enjoyable, was the Earth 1 Superman had the personality of the one I grew up with. That would be the Silver/Bronze Age Superman, or to many of the newer readers pre-crisis. Here was a Superman, and a Batman, who stands by incredibly high morale values in spite of the world around him. I missed this Superman and have to admit I am disappointed with the re-birth version after Crisis.
My hope is the Infinite Crisis ends with the existence of the multiverse. I realize that many newer readers were confused with the many Earths concept. But it did explain how superheroes don't age throughout the years. Plus I really liked the idea of keeping the Captain Marvel Family on their own Earth and away from the serious superheroes.
Anyway, it will be interesting to see how this all turns out.
