Flash Update

I am thinking about reading the Flash title. After IC where does it stand. Is Wally West still the Flash? Can someone give me a brief Description as to what is going on?

There are probably people who can give you a more thorow answer, but as far as I know

Wally and his family went into the speed force, sorta like Barry. Basicly, Wally West is gone, and no longer "The Flash". Bart (Kid Flash) aged a good deal while holding Superboy in the speed force. Though he was waring Barrys old costume, he is not the new Flash either. Bart has lost his powers during IC. Hes has since retired and is taking the bus like the rest of us. Since the Speed Force is "gone" or at least unaccesable, Jay Gerri, (sp?) is the only speedster left, due to his meta-gene. He can only hit about the speed of sound though. For all intents and purposes, he is the new and only Flash, as he is now the Fastest man alive.

The new Flash series starts in a few months iI think, and details as to what happens in that series can be read in the solicits (if it has been solicited).

It'll be interesting to see what became of Wally, Linda and the twins. I'm still confused as to exactly "where" Wally and the family went. In IC#4, before vanishing he went back to say goodbye to Linda. She asked if he was going to "that dimension gives you your powers? The speed force?..." Wally's answer was "No...not the speed force...I think...someplace else". Of course Barry then tells Bart that Wally is waiting for him right before pushing SBP into the speedforce. So the question is, where are Wally, Linda and the twins?

He obviously won't be. The writers of the book have clearly said that the first Flash you see won't be the Flash by the end. :p

Treu, but is Jay the first flash we see? I think he is, but might be someone else entirely. My money is on Bart, but hey what do I know.

now i'm totally sure i don't want tp be there for the degradation of the flash legacy.
what else was there to expect from the 2 guys that created one of the worst tv series ever?

To each his own squatch. I'm looking forward to it. I don't believe Jay will be the focal point of the new series. It'll most likely be Bart...but what happened to Wally and his group will need to be explored at some point.

I'll be disappointed if the focus of the series is Jay, but very unlikely that. I am stoked for this though.

In 52 week one, there is a flash seen. Jay and Bart are talking. Yes Bart has no powers anymore. He says "Wally's doing fine. He and Linda are just taking some time away. You should see how big the twins are getting." They talked about saving Connor. Who is that, I thought GA's son was named Connor.

Anyways I have commited to reading the Flash. What are some good recent back issues or trades to get? Remember I have never read a Flash issue. I just know about him trough IC.

Please don't read this spoiler if you don't like rumors On Wikipedia it says Bart is going to be the Flash due to a freak accident involving lightning just like Barry and Wally's origin.

But... but... the lightning came from the Speed Force! And now there is no Speed Force! That doesn't make a whole lot of sense.
Then again, it could be worse... he could be given Jay Garrick's Golden Age origin... "Hard water fumes" knocked Jay out and when he woke up, he could run super-fast.
