Ahh Elseworlds stories don't you love them? Where Bruce shakes hand with Hitler, Alfred becomes Robin, Jim Gordon sleeps with Selina, Superman becomes a communist, Hal Jordan becomes a Nazi and Zatanna beomes Tim Drake's girlfriend.

Which are the worst Elseworlds stories you ever read?

Here are mine

Speeding Bullets; This story carries the trouble of many Elseworlds stories, it is too stuck in status quo. I aid before and I will say again DC needs to write What If stories and Marvel needs to write more Elseworlds stories.

JLA: Destiny; Barring Santa Lex Luthor fighting for peace and justice this grit fest

JLA: Island of Dr Moreau
I can think of a better way to write this premise

Batman In Darkest Knight
Speeding Bullets ripoff and has same failings. Superman became Batman, Batman became Green Lantern, now all we need for Kyle Rayner becoming Wonder Woman and Wonder Woman becoming Last Daughter of Earth

JLA: Act of God
Elseworlds shame. You can't find a better example of screwing up a good idea. Superman becomes suicidal drunk, Wonder Woman becomes a suicidal Catholic, Lois dumps Clark because he is no longer Superman, Kyle Rayner becomes obssesive and whiner. There are few things DC fans could hate more than this.

Whom Gods Destroy
It has two good scens, one Superman inspiring Bruce, other Superman's conversation with a Nazi captain. Otherwise this looked like something written using drugs. Isthis the wrost piece of Chris Claremont?

Created Equal
Maybe if I read this before Y the Last Man, I may be impressed.

Distant Fires
Interesting premise bad execution, the end was worthy to enter superdickery

Last stand on Krypton
They copied Hollywood killed, a good title with many sequels

Batman vs. Lobo
A waste of time masquerading as parody

Batman Thrillkiller
Unless you wonder what a female Joker would look like pass this

League of Justice
D&D and Dc amalgamation how nice

Batman: Masque
Batman as Phantom of the Opera didn't work, now if we had Batman against Phantom

If they did that all at once, that would be an Elseworlds I'd love to see!

Act of God was one of the worst of all time. TERRIBLE characterization. Look at current Superman titles, and how happy Lois was that Clark was just Clark, and not Superman.

Diana's a pagan, she believes in the Greek pantheon...then she was Catholic...wait, what?

Kyle becoming a tool...yeah right.

The dumb names for the heroes who fight w/ Batman. Firstly, Clark and Diana would be with them immediately, why weren't they there? Secondly, the best name you could come up for J'onn was "Green Man"???

Awful, awful Elseworld.

I didn't think Speeding Bullets was that bad. The ending was what did it for me, and while the story wasn't exactly Eisner award material, the art was really very good. Lois was very attractive, which is something I miss sometimes with some artists who make her ugly.

And the most stupid thing is, when Lois and Clark married Clark was depowered. She had married Clark and only Clark. But the writer ignored this fact.

Green Man was an okay name compared to "Hand".

Speeding Bullets was bad, not Act of God bad, but bad nonetheless. It reeked of status quo, had massive Batman bashing and Jothor was a terrible idea.

Yes, there are some lame Elseworlds Tales, but yet there are many that are aweseme.
I like Dark Knight Dynasty, Kingdom and Kingdom Come, Just Imagine Stan Lee Creating..., JLA: The Nail, and there are more out there too that are good.

diana is not a pagna, she does not "believe" in the greek gods.
in the dc universe the greek gods are real, are there and she has even touched them.
so
1) she is not a pagan, she has one of the few (maybe the only) religion that the dc universe has real, tangible proofs and evidence of
2) hence she does not believe, she knows
3) yup, the story was baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad

Just read Superman: True Brit. Silly and dull, didn't laugh at all.

Anyone read Superman End of the Century? I saw it at the library but it looked weak.
