If you had to choose to be a DC comic character - which one would you be and why?

Only conditions you are not allowed to choose any of the big 5

batman
Superman
Wonderwoman
Hal Jordan
Flash - Wally West

Probably Ragman. His powers always interested me, but I think I could do alot more with them with a little imagination and creative application.

I don't know if I would stick strictly to role of "Karma Engine" though. I might start specifically looking for evil souls to add to the suit that possessed useful talents and abilities.

Probably Ragman.

Great character!!! Had the original 1970's 5 issue series. Liked Rory more in that incarnation of Ragman then in his more magical one we see now.

I haven't seen the original 70's mini, but I was originally won over by the character in a appearance he had in a two-part Batman story in the late 90's IIRC. Since then I was thrilled to see him make an almost-starring appearance in "Day of Vengence", and have been anguishing over his massive potential being slowly squandered in the pages of Shadowpact (though at least it has been looking up, slightly, in recent months).

I like him as a magical character, though I mostly enjoyed the element of Jewish mysticism that made him distinct from other magic-type characters. Sadly that seems to be largely ignored in Shadowpact, though the stories aren't really focused on him right now so there's always the hope that it could change.

I think the original 70's series was meant to be ongoing but only last 5 issues.
Here is a wikipedia link to give you the full info on Raggy and his appearances.

To be in the DCU:
martian manhunter, doubtless. Start being a bit cleverer with my powers and usurp supes from that coveted number 1 spot (or atleast get diana out of the top 3). Shape shift into a (handsome) human to win more of the public over to my cause.

In the real world:
Captain Comet. Has a lot to offer the world in terms of tech (got a planet from tribes and mudhuts to space program in a month) and i'd still be easily powerful enough to make a difference as a superhero in the modern world (especially when i invent a machine to age me 25 years so my stats are lobo slapping level again)

Yeah. J'onn would be the obvious pick IMO.

But to break rank here, in no certain order

1. Plastic Man. Possibilities are limitless here

2. Nightwing. 40% for the character, 60% for his black book and memories of his "conquests".

3. Steel. Hitting people with a hammer would be fun.

4. GA Ollie. 10% for the character (calling people fascists FTW) and 90% for the goatee

5. Any GL not named Kyle or Mogo :p

In comics I would be Orion. Astroforce+Superman stats=pwnage. In the real world I'd like to be a GL.

On Comics: Jonn is the obvious answer, he got too much versaility.

On real world: Captain Marvel (although I will be on Marvel from all the time), he is wise, poweful enough to make a diference and inspirational. I will also like to be a GL.
