Angry San Diego Comic Con International no longer in San Diego 2006!

I received some disturbing news today. I found out that San Diego Comic Con International will no longer carry the largest comic book convention in San Diego!

Sources tell me that there is an 80% chance that it will held in Anaheim. This may be good news for some, but for San Diego this could be bad. Comic Con brings in much needed business one week out of the year to small businesses, hotels/motels, and to the convention center. It is feared that cost will go up because of the relocation. If it is more expensive to go, then fewer will attend, fans and retailers. This would eventually lead to no convention. Think about it. Los Angels?! Just imagine the traffic alone, not including the commute to and from the center.

On top of it all, it would be very sad to see it elsewhere. San Diego has kept it alive for the past 30 years, with no signs of it ever decreasing it's audience.

So please help in keeping Comic Con International in San Diego. Make yourself heard, and email them with your concern.

Make them Hear your opinion!

You are wrong. From the horses mouth

Got good news. I read the rumour and just couldn't believe it so I asked the people who would know, the comic-con people. I got their reply as to whether comic con is moving or not. "Straight from the horses mouth." Click here to know the truth.

Hmm. I was all set to walk down the street to the Comic-Con too...

Is there anyway we can get them to move it here? Even though San Diego isn't terribly far from me, I've been unable to go since I was 12, since I couldn't possibly afford to stay there and go the actual convention.

Plus, if it's held in Anaheim, you can go the con, then literally cross the street and be at Disneyland. It's a win-win!

I'm surprised Disney hasn't found a way to host their OWN comic con yet. Lord knows they're trying to take over every OTHER entertainment industry...
